eHub (CargoWise)

CargoWise's integration platform that enables external systems to exchange data with CargoWise via XML messages, supporting inbound and outbound document, shipment, and financial data flows.

eHub is CargoWise's integration platform — the primary mechanism for external applications to send data into and receive data from a CargoWise instance. It operates on an XML message-based architecture: external systems compose XML documents conforming to CargoWise's schema and submit them via eHub, which validates, processes, and imports the data into the appropriate CargoWise modules (freight, customs, accounting, etc.). eHub also supports outbound data flows, enabling CargoWise to push event notifications, shipment updates, and document data to external systems.

For freight forwarders integrating AI automation with CargoWise, eHub is typically the integration layer through which AI-extracted data enters the TMS. The process involves extracting structured data from freight documents, mapping it to CargoWise's XML schema (which includes specific field requirements, reference number formats, and entity codes), and submitting it through eHub for processing. eHub validates the XML against CargoWise's schema before importing, providing error feedback when submissions don't conform to the required structure.

FreightMynd's integration with CargoWise uses eHub as the primary data pathway. Our 4PL control tower automation generates CargoWise-compatible XML from AI-extracted document data and pushes it through eHub — creating and updating shipment records, attaching documents, and populating financial data without any manual intervention. We handle the XML schema mapping, validation requirements, and error handling that make eHub integration reliable at production scale. The system we built for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics pushes thousands of data transactions through eHub daily with near-zero rejection rates.
